Maternity and Post Natal Nursing at home

The ever increasing pressures of cost and time are forcing earlier and earlier discharge of you and your baby from hospital after delivery. The peace and tranquillity needed for you and your baby is frequently replaced by the tensions of rapidly finding yourself back in the humdrum of managing a home and family- and possibly a career.  What should be the mother's happiest time often turns into one of stress, uncertainty and lost moments.  Some of us cannot afford to do otherwise.  But many parents are now discovering the benefits of Lauderdale's Maternity Program.  Specifically designed to assist you with most of the problems associated with having a new born baby in your home, we take some of the stress away, allowing you more time to appreciate and bond with your new baby.

Once you have chosen Lauderdale, our trained midwifery home co-ordinator will assess your needs ( in hospital or after discharge as required ), recommend a plan of care, and discuss it with you.  Usually this will consist of 2 or 3 visits from our home midwife to assist you and your baby with all aspects of care ranging from the latest feeding techniques to photo-therapy.  Coupled with this, we would typically provide a nurse to look after baby and allow mother time to sleep, rest or have some time off.   For example many mothers have a night nurse for the first week home to allow them an uninterrupted night's sleep.  The amount of care required is discussed with you at all times to suit your requirements and affordability.

We also carry a full range of equipment from breast pumps to ultra violet lights, with professional supervision to ensure their correct use.

Should you or your baby have a more serious complaint, Lauderdale offers a complete service by arranging auxiliary services for you if requested.  Home Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medical Equipment Hire, Intravenous Therapy and other Support Services can easily be co-ordinated for you on your Doctor's orders.  Our large complement of nurses with different disciplines allow us, as your needs change, to adjust our services accordingly- so you never pay for more care than is necessary.
